Today is the first day of my pre-sessional course. In order to group students, the language centre decided to give us some tests. The tests included listening, speaking, reading and writing. ...Oop~ there was an "accident" in oral test.

The teachers asked us to chat with other in two/three people of a group. Except for asking people's background, we had to ask "interesting question". Here comes the accident:

Me: Hi, XXX ! You are from Korea, I have a question with you: several months ago, a Korean sceintist cheated and made up the result of his journal, what do you think of this?

XXX:.... (silence) I don't want to explain this, although i think it is a crime event.

Me: I see. (I didn't recognize that he was very unhappy with that.)

Teacher: Yes, I know that! But it is very common in many countries. (Apparantely, this teacher knew that XXX was not comfortabe and tried to say something to comfort him. Of couse, I knew that at that moment.)

XXX: Yes, JUST LIKE IN TAIWAN, JUST LIKE IN TAIWAN, JUST LIKE IN TAIWAN. (He repeated that for three times!!!!)

When i came back home, i told to my boyfriend about this. He warned me that people say Korean people are very tought and i should keep them away.

What an impressing shock!
